Car Speakers Information |
Are you tired of your factory speakers? If you don’t enjoy your music, your auto speakers are most likely to be the cause of the problem. To improve your car’s sound performance, it’s time to replace your low quality speakers with better ones to feel your music.
Since cars come with different speaker sizes, you will need to find the ones that fit your vehicle. The most common used car speakers are 6.5”, 4” and 6”. If you decide to buy speakers that can provide mid range sounds with strong bass, you might end up installing custom speaker size. 6X9 speakers are considered to be one of the odd sizes that you won’t typically find in many cars. Mounting these speakers might be a little bit challenging, but they are worth every penny.
What makes aftermarket car speakers better?
Aftermarket speakers can produce stronger and better sound quality because of the way they were designed and the materials used.
Unlike car makers, car audio manufacturers give a lot of attention to the speaker’s sound quality and performance. Audio companies do a lot of testing to get the best results at different voltages. Every aftermarket speaker is well designed to produce the type of music you want to hear with different ranges (high and mid). They also add so many new technologies to overall circuit design to produce accurate/clean sound and drive the right frequency. When you buy a name brand car speaker, you not only get a quality gear but also a piece of art.
Car audio manufacturers have noticed that to get an exceptional sound, they need to use top-notch materials. Car speakers are exposed to many harsh weather including high temperature and moisture which affect the speaker’s performance and stability. Most name brand car speakers are built with fine materials that can survive the vehicle’s unforgiving heat. The result is powerful and crisper sound even at high volume.
Since you know why you need to upgrade your speakers, it’s time to find the ones that fir your car audio set-up. Generally speaking, there are 2 types of speakers:
Full range speakers:
If you are looking for an easy way to replace your factory speakers with minimum effort, the full range speakers are your first choice because everything is contained in one basket. They contain a woofer and a tweeter that is mounted onto it. These speakers are available in many sizes, so you will easily find the one that mounts perfectly into your car.
Component speakers:
unlike full range speakers, this type of speakers comes with a separate tweeter and crossover. The tweeters can be mounted in any location you deem suitable for maximum sound clarity. Because of the way component speakers were designed and built, you will get high quality sound than the full range. The price tag of this type of speakers will be higher, so more investment needs to be made if you are thinking to buy them.

Sanili @ American Car Show 2006

This is a video of my ex-scooter Sanili Forte (year-model 2004, 4-stroke, 50cc). The scooter was seen on the American Car Show-2006 in Helsinki, Finland. The audio system is made of fiberglass and plywood. There's 2 one-inch tweeters in the glove-box, 1 eight-inch subwoofer and two 5.25-inch mid-speakers in the helmetbox under the seat. The cd-player/radio is by JVC. All the blue lights flashes in step of the music rythm, but they can also burn continuously or be shut down while riding. It really was an eye catcher!
